Employing a distinct design, the 53″ Apollo Deep Umbrella from Westcott combines a soft quality of light with control over the output which is exceptional for an umbrella modifier. The depth of the light-shaper “focuses” the light, so while it disperses it like other umbrellas do, it also has a sharper cut-off. It provides control over where the light falls and maximizes output, making it suitable for long throw work. Unlike rectangular softboxes, the Apollo provides the benefit of natural-looking catchlights in the eyes of your subject. Made to last, the Apollo has 16 durable fiberglass ribs and a dual-walled 8mm metal shaft that fits nearly all flash heads, and it fits speedlights using a separately purchased swivel stand mount with an umbrella receptacle.

Precise and Direct Lighting Designed with a deep profile and rigid framework, the Apollo Deep Umbrella creates an even and direct throw of light for impressive portrait photography.Natural-Looking Catchlights The Apollo Deep Umbrella’s 16-rod round design create natural-looking catchlights in your subject’s eyes, allowing for pristine portraiture without distracting reflections.

Designed for On-the-Go Photographers With flexible framework and instant setup, these modifiers are designed for busy photographers. Each Apollo umbrella packs up quickly and can be thrown into any gear bag for effortless travel and storage.

Control Focus and Output Reflective, white-interior, deep umbrellas provide softer light output compared with the highly-reflective silver interior. Adjusting the position of your light source on the deep umbrella allows you to control the light’s focus to achieve the look that you desire.
